An intimate Antarctic experience like no other where participants are transported in small inflatable boats amongst exquisite grounded icebergs and calving glaciers, and close to feeding whales and hunting seals.
With the unpredictability of the Antarctic wonderland, there is no better way to explore its beauty up close and personal than on a Zodiac cruise with Aurora Expeditions.
The Zodiacs are capable of carrying up to 16 guests at a time, as they have a unique low centre of gravity design that ensures stability, and easy navigation in a range of different conditions. While the ships are small enough to manoeuvre through icy waters, these lightweight Zodiac boats are well-suited to the Antarctic, and should the crew see an opportunity for a spontaneous landing or excursion (perhaps due to an incredible ice formation or unexpected wildlife sighting), the boats are ready to go at all times.
The Zodiac excursions can be used either for a cruise or a shore landing. Throughout the course of your Antarctic expedition you’ll have the chance to visit historic huts, scientific research bases and whaling sites, as well as see leopard seals lazing on ice floes and busy penguin rookeries.
This activity is included in all of the Aurora Expeditions Antarctica Voyages, and prices start from US$10,500 per person.
