Get ready for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Cruising Antarctica, exploring this white wonderland and spotting the diverse and unique wildlife is one of those expeditions that appears on many people’s bucket lists. But Chimu’s 11-day Antarctica Empowered tour takes it up another notch altogether.
The special guest on this journey is Australian sporting legend, Kurt Fearnley. The three-time gold medal Paralympian and conqueror of the Kokoda Track will board expedition vessel, Ocean Atlantic, at Ushuaia in Argentina with a select group of passengers.
After two days crossing the Drake Passage, the ship will arrive at South Shetland Island and begin its exploration of the southern continent. Sightsee from the deck, get paddling on a kayak or jump into a Zodiac to explore an active research station and other sites like Deception Island and Neko Harbour.
At night, there’s a full schedule of activities, as well as the chance to get to know Kurt a little better. This expedition will also be raising money for the Make A Difference (MAD) Project, which funds projects for disabled people in marginalised locations.
This amazing trip departs 21 February 2020.
Prices for the 11-day expedition cruise start at about US$7250 a person, twin share in a standard cabin.
