As far as we’re concerned, every city needs an Orbite; a place where you can pay to experience space without the inconvenience (and the years of schooling) of actually becoming an astronaut.
Orbite’s experiences are pretty much a space tourist’s dream (are they a thing?), minus the whole, “What happens if the spaceship blows up and I die,” part.
First up, the ‘Living in Space’ experience, because who wouldn’t want to know what it’s like to live in a glorified tin can orbiting the Earth? Orbite’s version doesn’t include a cramped space station, but it does give you the chance to live in an ultra-simulation, complete with zero-gravity fun.
You’ll do everything from floating around, eating space food (yum, freeze-dried ice cream), and navigating your new space station home like a true space nomad, to wondering which body part you’ll have to sell to be able to afford the $19,500 price tag.
Or you can choose the ‘Space Health’ experience where you’ll forget all about normal yoga and instead, get a crash course in what zero gravity can do for your body.
Expect some funky stretches, blood flow experimentation, and feeling like you’ve just been given a full-body tune-up by the universe itself. It’s basically spa day, but in a gravity-free zone where your muscles get some weird TLC.
Finally, there’s the ‘Antarctic Analog’ experience – It’s like pretending to live in space, but instead of a rocket ship, you’re stuck in the coldest, most remote place on Earth (Antarctica). Here, you’ll experience isolation, harsh conditions, and the opportunity to practice patience. It’s kinda like space but with penguins.
If you’ve got cash burning a hole in your pocket and a penchant for adventure, these experiences are for you.
Orbite combines decades of experience in astronaut training and space flight. Their team has applied this knowledge to create bespoke experiences blending luxury hospitality with the thrill of space. And, if you’re not sure which experience to go with, they can help you find the right program tailored to your interests and goals.
