Are there two things more inherently Finnish than saunas and drinking? Absolutely not, according to Löyly, a newly opened public sauna that also happens to double as a bar. So much more than just a seedy sweat-fest serving cheap beers, the complex is a stunning architectural masterpiece housing three different types of traditional experiences and multiple boozing areas.

There are open fireplaces that roar into life during winter, and an outdoor terrace and rooftop patio that lure sun-seeking patrons during summer. There’s no chance of becoming parched, thanks to the solid drinks list (the Löyly Negroni is a real thirst-quencher), although if the heat does get to you, the icy waters of the Gulf of Finland are just one brave jump off the terrace away…
