The Ord Valley Muster is backWestern Australia, Australia

Western Australia’s Kimberley isn’t exactly the kind of place that does things halfway. So, it makes sense that one of its biggest events goes all in.

The Ord Valley Muster is back in Kununurra/Goornoorang from 15–24 May 2026, and it’s not just another regional festival quietly celebrating a milestone. It’s 25 years of music, culture and outback experiences rolled into 10 days that feel a long way from anything ordinary.

Big names are locked in - Tina Arena, Boy & Bear and Budjerah - but the real draw is how everything comes together. You’ve got world-class music sharing space with Aboriginal storytelling, cultural experiences and a real connection to Country that doesn’t feel staged.

At the centre of it all is the Kimberley Moon Experience. Think live music under a sky that refuses to be ignored, paired with a black-tie dinner that somehow works in the middle of the outback. Its polished and wild, which pretty much sums up the whole event.

Then there’s everything else: Comedy in the Park for a laid-back night under the stars, Corroboree Under the Stars for something far more grounding, and a lineup of experiences that spill well beyond a typical festival schedule.

And when the music wraps up, you’re in the Kimberley. The Ord River, Lake Argyle, ancient landscapes, it’s all right there, waiting.

Looking for a reason to head north? This is it.

get there

The best way to reach Ord Valley Muster is by flying to Kununurra via a major hub such as Perth or Darwin, with regular connections operated by Virgin Australia and Airnorth (in partnership with Qantas). From Kununurra Airport, it’s a 10-15 minute drive into town and the festival precinct.
