UDL’s new flavours are here
We’ve lost count of the number of RTDs we’ve tried that promise big flavour but end up tasting like someone tipped half a bag of sugar into the can. That's what surprised us most about UDL's new Double Crush 8% range. Despite packing a stronger punch, it's remarkably easy drinking.
Australia's original premix brand has been around since 1965, but this latest release feels aimed squarely at modern drinking occasions, the backyard catch-ups, Friday knock-offs and kitchen pre-drinks that often end up being more fun than wherever you're supposed to be heading afterwards.
The range comes in three tropical flavours: Guava & Lime, Orange & Mango, and Pineapple & Passionfruit. Our pick is the Guava & Lime, which balances juicy fruit with enough citrus to keep things refreshing. The Orange & Mango leans a little sweeter without becoming cloying, while Pineapple & Passionfruit delivers exactly the kind of tropical hit you'd expect from the name.
What stood out across all three was that they didn't feel overly heavy or syrupy, which can be the downfall of stronger RTDs. At 8% ABV, they're certainly built for pre-drinks, but they don't taste like they're trying to convince you of it.
The launch comes as more Australians are choosing to drink at home rather than spend a small fortune on a night out (super fair), and Double Crush feels tailor-made for those occasions. To celebrate, UDL has partnered with Australian band Playlunch for a 27-date regional tour across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia and Tasmania.
UDL Double Crush 8% is available now at bottle shops nationwide and online via Sippify, with a four-pack priced at AU$33 and a case of 24 available for AU$190.
