Enter Fujifilm's GFX Challenge Grant Program
Most great creative projects start the same way: as a half-formed idea scribbled in a notebook, saved in a phone, or mentioned over a beer before being shelved indefinitely. Usually, the problem isn't the idea. It's finding the time, money and support to actually make it happen.
It turns out, there’s a Fujifilm GFX Challenge Grant Program for that.
Now returning for its sixth year, the annual initiative is once again offering photographers and content creators across Australia and New Zealand the chance to turn ambitious concepts into finished projects. And we're not talking about a token prize. This year's program has close to AUD$145,000 in grants up for grabs. Wowza.
Five global winners will each receive AUD$15,000, while 10 regional winners will score more than AUD$7,000 each, along with access to Fujifilm's GFX camera system, lenses and mentorship from industry professionals.
The focus isn't on having the most polished portfolio or decades of experience behind you. According to local judge and Fujifilm X-Photographer Andrew Hall, strong storytelling, a clear vision and an idea that makes people feel something will always stand out.
Past recipients have used the program as a springboard for larger creative opportunities, including photographer Tania Malkin, whose winning project led to an ongo-ing relationship with Fujifilm and helped bring her concept to life.
Successful projects will also be showcased globally on Fujifilm's website, putting emerging creators in front of an international audience.
Entries for the 2026 GFX Challenge are open now and close on 17 August. If you've been waiting for a sign to finally start that project, this just might be it.
