Is This Botswana’s Hottest New Address?

Safari camps love to throw around words like exclusive.

But when a camp only has four suites and a maximum of eight guests at any one time, this one’s earned the right.

Opening on 15 October 2026, Kanana Nyana Botswana is the newest addition to the Ker & Downey Botswana collection, tucked into one of the Okavango Delta’s richest wildlife regions on the edge of Moremi Game Reserve. If sharing a lion sighting with a convoy of safari vehicles sounds like your worst nightmare, this is definitely the stay for you.

The boutique camp overlooks the Xudum River and surrounding floodplains, that wildlife regularly wanders past, while each of the four individually designed thatched suites comes with its own private plunge pool and interiors inspired by the Delta’s iconic trees and earthy colour palette.

The name Kanana Nyana comes from the Setswana word for ‘small’, but don’t mistake that for modest.

When you’re not out tracking elephants, wild dogs or leopards with expert guides, you can retreat to the lounge, bar or dining spaces, squeeze in a gym session, or book an in-room wellness treatment before your next game drive.

This is an elevated safari experience that pairs striking architecture with thoughtful design, warm Botswana hospitality and a certain kind of peace that’s becoming increasingly hard to find.

Rates start from AU$1,791 per person, per night, rising seasonally to AU$3,554, with bookings now open ahead of the camp’s October debut. Sometimes, less really is more.

To prove that the best safari experiences don’t need big numbers, just the right location.

Boutique, beautifully designed and blissfully quiet, with the Okavango Delta as your front yard.
