The Women’s Adventure Film Tour is returning to Australian cinemas this September and October, celebrating 10 years of putting seriously adventurous women on the big screen. And for the 2026 season, Explore Worldwide has joined as a partner, supporting screenings around the country. And when we say adventurous, we’re setting the bar rather high.
Journey Across Queen Maud Land on a Bike follows Australian explorer and record-breaking cyclist Dr Kate Leeming as she pedals through one of the most remote landscapes on Earth. Then there’s Limitless Above the Clouds, documenting mountaineer Allie Pepper’s attempt to become the first Australian to climb all 14 of the world’s 8,000m peaks without supplemental oxygen.
Thankfully, nobody’s suggesting you need to immediately purchase crampons.
That’s partly why the Explore partnership makes sense. Its version of adventure can be considerably less oxygen-deprived: taking the train through India, cycling Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast, eating your way around Japan or finally making the trek to Machu Picchu. Small-group trips and expert tour leaders take some of the logistical faff out of getting somewhere unfamiliar.

The Melbourne screening lands at Lido Cinema on Thursday 10 September, hosted by Felicity Harley, while screenings continue across Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and elsewhere throughout September and October.
